My wife and I always liked the idea of building our home. To have a new home, one that we had created. We never went actively looking around to find a block of land but this block, which is in our neighborhood, has been left empty since 1995 when the houses around it started to get built. I was walking my baby boy around the block and find a ‘For Sale’ sign on it, rang my wife and contacted the agent. Sold. OK, it wasn’t that quick but after 3 days of other bidders pushing the price up we finally got the OK, its ours. After a bit of work this is what it looked like, not bad if I do say so myself.. Thanks to family that helped me clear the land. I’m not sure why the owner of the land didn’t mow the lawn and remove the small building waste the someone had left on the block (thanks for that by the way) before selling it. He could have really shown off how flat and easy it would be to build on this block. But he didn’t and its ours now so its up to us.
